Clarifying Shampoo
There’s nothing like a little clarifying shampoo to revitalize dull hair. Over time, styling products may accumulate on the surface of your hair and cause it to appear dull and lifeless. In order to prevent this, you should use some kind of clarifying shampoo once or twice per week to eliminate built-up dirt or residue.
An easy do-it-yourself deep-conditioning treatment can get more moisture into your hair when it’s dried out. Get your hair wet and put a large amount of regular conditioner on it. After you have applied it, wrap your locks in plastic wrap so that the heat is trapped. 30 to 60 minutes later, you can shampoo out the conditioner and rinse.
To help protect your curls while you sleep, use a satin pillowcase. Cotton cases can cause the hair to become dry and absorb its natural oils. A satin pillowcase lets you wake up with non-frizzy hair that looks almost as good as it did when you got in bed. You can get the same effect by wearing a scarf or bonnet of satin to bed, too.
When you brush your hair, begin at the ends and work upward. Take the time to work knots out slowly so that you can avoid breaking your hair. As you are detangling your hair, brush your hair gently from top to bottom using smooth, long strokes.
